  1. Hello I am using a wireless router with an ADSL connection. I've recently noticed the speeds to be dropping so I've been running speed tests and also switching off and on the router. The ISP advertised the speed as 8 megs and I have gotten 6 megs before on speed tests. Now it is around 5 megs immediately after I restart the router but then drops to around 1. What is the cause for this?

Does the entire house or apt have the DLS line filters installed.... the random slow-ness your getting is do to noise in the line... or u need to call the DSL co. and have them run some Diag's there is something wrong...

just an idea... hope this helps...

Also if your using wireless, are there any phone connections or even else where is the router located compared to where you use your devices. Also if there are other Wireless networks around you running on the same channel this can disrupt connectivity hugely and i would suggest changing the router channel if this is the case
