Okay now it's time to test some hardware again. "The scandisk put another load of errors and sorted them" Scandisk is a very old Windows 95 program. Chkdsk or checkdisk is the updated program. I bet your hard drive or memory still has issues. Can you retest them? Any new errors on the hard drive may mean that the hard drive is beginning to fail

Pc seem to be running ok at the moment thats the update, now i have had a no issue I built a pc and been trying for days to get it to install xp pro with sp3 and it hangs at 34 mins when installing devices.

I have tried different discs, such as vista, 7 and other xp discs and still no joy. I have been on to lots of different websites and still i havent found a solution.

I have disable almost everything that been suggested in the bios and used a xp pro without service pack and you guess it nothing

any ideas experts
