[BSOD] ntoskrnl.exe - Random between 1-4 days

Hello everyone. I have had a re-occurring BSOD issue. Sometimes 1, two, or three times a day at random, and sometimes nothing for a few days... It's very interesting.

The computer ran absolutely perfectly for 3-4 months with no changes being made to it, and then suddenly it's beginning to BSOD. I can't stand it anymore, I need to fix it. It used to have 4x4GB memory ram, and now it was replaced with 4x4GB RAM, but all new sticks. Still having it.

Nice system

The 500GB internal may need to be checked for errors. Go to Computer. Right-click and select properties, tools, check now. Put a check mark in both boxes to set a disk check on the next start up...

Alrighty, I ran the CHKDSK utility, and it spent about four hours cleaning up. After that, I did a defrag and installed ALL of the Windows Updates.

So far, so good. It blue screened once while running the CHKDSK, and once again the NT Kernel was responsible for the blue screen according to the BlueScreenViewer. Once I rescheduled the CHKDSK though, it did it completely with no issues. So far, no blue screen.

I will let you know if this is solved by Tuesday. Thanks!

Okay good. Ntoskrnl.exe and the other BSOD errors pointed to hard or boot drive problems. Hopefully the BSOD's won't return. If they do you might consider replacing the boot drive. It also may be a good time to back up your important data now though

I am going to call this solved! No blue screens, and it's been on for almost 48 hours straight. The Checkdisk and Defrag must have fixed it.

I know quite a bit about computers so I'm embarrassed the solution was this simple... I tried everything, except the simple stuff. Thank you once again!

Well, it happened again. It took it four days, but it's the same "ntoskrnl.exe" bluescreen from before. The bluescreen error code was "0x00003B" and it was "SERVICE_EXCEPTION".

It happened when I was dragging a Chrome tab to my dual monitor. Here is a puush image of the exact error information.

Okay, it is time to check the memory by using memtest86 version 5.01:
http://www.memtest.org/
Download Memtest86 5.01 iso file and burn it to a DVD or CD. Boot the computer with this disk and let Memtest86 run for at least 7 passes. No errors are allowed

Nope.. Still BSOD every 2-4 days, and it's the same errors as above, always the ntsokrnl.exe file every time with a different error code. The last two BSOD's didn't even have a stop code.

Time to reformat?
