BSOD on Dell Latitude d620

Been getting a BSOD saying Driver IRQL not less or equal. I went into advanced options on startup, tried all the safe modes, but everytime the computer just locks up. Only thing that worked was debugging mode. I probably should have worked harder on the blue screen problem because now this, too, gives me a BSOD. It doesn't mention a specific driver just STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005 0x8A6E94C9 0xBACCAC4C 0xBACCA948)

Other details: Even in debugging mode the computer was freezing pretty frequently, usually when trying to access video or other media files. Also, the comp runs pretty hot. The vent by the power jack is really warm.

The Bios setup I see doesn't have any temperature, and is that diagnostic able to run off of usb, otherwise I can't use.

Oh and the diagnostic in the Bios menu said everything was ok.

    Did you try running it?

Just run it, Dell have made it real easy ;)

There's a good guide HERE on checking CPU temperatures (the free tools are located near the end of the guide)

But a brand new tool has just be made by Piriform (the same makers of CCleaner, which I use most days)
    This tool is called: Speccy
Its still in Beta testing stage though, but it works on my computer :) Here it is: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download

Problem solved. It's not a hardware issue, it's just Windows being Windows. With Ubuntu's help I got all the files I needed off of the hard disk. Now I have installed Ubuntu and am enjoying how smoothly it runs. Thanks for the help.
