Bsod stop error on loading xp pro from drive

I have a dell optiplex 330 with windows xp pro loaded but I can't get beyond the logon to windows box. This comp was previously used as a server unit for a specialised software. The software writer retained control of the software by having a dedicated server unit to which he had remote access even though the company owned the copy of the software.
We bought the assets of the company (including the software) but fell out withthe writer because he hadn't been paid for service contract by the old company. We demounted the comp from the dsl access and I now want to load a fresh copy of xp pro but cannot get into the system to open the cd from within. So I tried booting direct from the dvdrom but got the bsod with many 0's 7B. I can't find what 7B is telling me is wrong b ut I can and have done a diagnostic from the setup screen which shows no errors at all. I have tried also resetting factory defaults and all the password screens say there are no passwords set.
I'm stuck any clues please?

How to find and post your Minidump Files:

My Computer > C Drive > Windows Folder > Minidump Folder > Minidump Files.

It is these files that we need (not the folder). Attach to your next post the five most recent dumps. Notice the Manage Attachments button at the bottom when you go to post the next time. You can Zip up to five files per Zip; if you only have one or two you don’t need to zip them, just attach as is. Please do us a favor and don’t Zip each one individually.

Error post?

I am assuming that your reply was destined for someone with a different problem to mine. If I could see the C drive I would be inside the system and could format the drive then load XP from the dvd drive but that hasn't occured yet. I tried swapping a dvd rom drive from another unit but still get the same bsod when trying to load XP

You can't format the drive on the computer from the install CD?

Can you just put in another hard drive and install on that?

Tried that

Hi
Thanks for the input but I tried that also. One machine does have the option to run a diagnostic system & memory test which all came back ok including when run on the dvd drive so I swapped it to the other machine and tried to run the install from there amd still no joy. I'm hoping my XP pro copy hasn't corrupted somehow so I'm going to back up my laptop and upgrade from the XP home copy if it will run.
