BSOD with BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER

    Hi guys please help.

    BSOD with BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER
    STOP: 0X000000FE (0X00000005, 0X8720D0E0, 0X80863A3A, 0X870CC7E4)

    Hi my PC would not boot up this morning but I was able to start it in safe mode. When the internet connection did not work I unplugged and replugged the Inventel WiFi receiver, soon after which I got the BSOD described above.

    Since then the PC will come on pressing the button but nothing happens thereafter, I cannot hear the fan coming on, the hard disk spinning or its indicator light coming on.

    I tried booting with the windows 7 DVD but nothing happens.

    Please help, this is my daughter's PC who is preparing for her GCSEs!!

    Remove the battery and try booting only with the AC adapter...

    Sorry should have mentioned this is a desktop not a laptop so runs of he mains already. Or were you talking of some other battery.

    No, thanks for the clarification...

    Hopefully it is just a bad power supply. Replace it and see if the computer boots
