That's pretty funny how, except for the video card, she's getting a better system than mine. I put together a budgeted, but reliable, gaming system. I used an Athlon 3200+ Venice core, PCI-E 6600GT. I wasn't expecting it to blow me out of the water, but it did for the price I ended up paying when everything was said and done. I understand how you might want to go for the 3700+ for the purpose of keeping it a long time, but i'm just saying that unless she is planning to keep that thing forever, I would probably go with the 3500+. If money is not an issue, then she's getting a great deal with the 3700+. I'm sorry if i repeated anything said, but I just kind of skimmed through the first post, and just thought I'd give my opinion.

Yes, I agree. I have downgraded her CPU to a 3500+. She has also changed her case to the Antec P180 so I have to add a PSU. I'll probably stick a high quality 350w - 400w in there (Fortron or antec or something). Haven't decided yet.

And so far sticking with the X1300.... the main part I don't have confidence in.
