Building new desktop, need some help

Hi guyz,I am selling my 5 yrs old computer P4 1.7GHZ and will buy new one as soon as i sell old one.I also want to play some new games in my new desktop.I also have limited budget.Will the below specification will be able to play games like Cryisis,Bioshock,gear of wars,COD:morden warfare,DMC 4 in medium settings.Also will it be able to play other new games in the future like gear of wars 2.I will be palying these games at 1024*768 resolution.

Intel® Core™2 Duo 2.6/2.4 GHZ processor(800MHZ)
2 GB RAM
Mid range motherborard like MSI G31,Intel 965
CRT Flat 17" monitor.
Geforce 8600GT 256MB
160GB hard disk

Yes that configuration is more than capable of playing those games at Medium-High detail levels and at that resolution.

hai rage, thanks for the interest.But i read the articles in teschspot about the requirement for crysis and biochock.For 8600GT,it play both games way below 30 frame rate at at 25/26.So is it possible to play games at that frame rate.I have no idea how much frame rate is required to play the game smoothly but the writer their is saying that you need 40 frame rate to run game smoothly.Is it true?Aslo if i play game in 1024*768 instead of 1280*800 will my frame rate increase(by how much?any idea) also will the quality & performance increase significantly or by only some margin if i play games in 1024*768.Here are the links for article.

The game will be playable enough IMO, especially if you patch it to the latest version. That review is old and uses the Crysis demo. I'd imagine the retail, patched version delivers better framerates.

I run Crysis at 40+ frames on full detail with my card. 30 frame rates will be fine for crysis.
