I wasted 1 cd just because of this error, I can't use it anymore.....I have this dvd burner " LG GSA-4167B 16X DVD+-RW 16X Dual Layer Writer IDE 2MB Black OEM With Software". Is it my dvd-burner or something else...I have windows XP 1800+ cpu with 1GB memory, and saphire 9550 128mb video card....etc.....

Could be bad Media type or if you installed Nero INCD - this could cause probs, so try unistalling all of nero and reinstall without the INCD bit

Also found this which might be of help from Nero:

This error be caused by the following:

    * Normally caused by CD-R or CD-RW media the recorder is unable to work with. Or the media could be defective, dirty or just not compatible with the recorder.
    * Cables are known to cause this: loose cables, damaged cables, loose power connectors, etc.
    * Defective recorders are known to cause this. Test with another demo software to rule out software as the cause. If two software programs have the same symptom, your recorder may need service.
    * If the drive is being polled by another software's driver, it could hang the bus. Uninstall any other CD recording software you may have had on your system, as well as Nero. Then use Registry cleaner software to clean you registry. At last try a fresh install of our latest Nero release.

DVD are quite touchy, but when it is right they write! Sorry
You can try a number of things.
First check the Info tool and be sure the 'System ASPI' layer is good.
Make sure the Temp file (You can set any file in preferences)used for your Buffer is on a partitiion that has lots of free space and defragment it for good measure.

Next try to write at a slower rate.
    Try different media brands.
Make sure you have the latest version of Nero.
    Look for a Firmware update.

Nero 7 is very bugged, especially versions 7.0.0.0 to 7.0.1.4. Download the update 7.0.5.4 and do test. Many fixes in this version, I had error while audio cd burning in 7.0.1.4 and the bug is gone in 7.0.5.4. Check for a firmware update for you burner.

I found a workaround and a clue to the problem.

I'm burning with a Sony DRU830A on Nero 7 express on XP Pro on a Dell 380 workstation. This particular external burner has a FW interface as well as USB. I had been using a USB cable, but since we the company pushed out the XPSP3 package I'd been encountering this same error and burn failure. I switched over to a 6 pin FW400 cable and the burn completed without issue. I had been burning this very same .iso file in Nero successfully for quite awhile as this particular DVD is our company's base workstation image. I must have burned 30 or more of these over the prior 6 months or so on USB without a hiccup or coaster. I'm not sure precisely what the problem was, but it's definitely related to some change which effected USB. My guess would be something with the USB driver in SP3. I was fortunate to have a FW interface, but were I stuck with USB I'd be looking to update a USB driver.
