Burning problems with a PHILIPS DVD+-RW DVD8801

Hi, I was helping my grandfather with burning with his new computer and I encountered a problem. I get a burn process failed error every time I try. I've tried using a different external recorder using the same media and burning the same files and everything worked fine, so I'm thinking its the Phillips drives fault. Here is the Nero 6 log, from what I can see everything goes fine till this "calibration area full" message.

You could always try updating the drivers for the drive, there might be a new firmware version for it as well. Maybe try disabling buffer underrun protection too? The calibration area full thing happened right after some buffer underrun protection thing showed up...just a guess. Definitely check for new drivers and drive firmware though.
