Cable Internet Messing Up

Everytime I go on my computer to go online, I turn on my cable box as usual but the internet never works. I always have to go to the control panel and reset the connection. Is there anyway I can keep this from happening.

why would you turn off the cable modem?
leave modem on

How do you "reset" the connection? You should turn on the cable modem before turning on the computer and let it go through its startup routing before turning on the PC.

And yes, there is little point in turning off the modem.

I turn it off of standby, I dont reset the whole modem every time

reverse your procedure; leave the modem running (very little power used)
and hibernate/sleep or power off the system(s) attached.
