Call of Duty 4 Ping problems

Hi all
i am very sad i am unable to play my fav game COD 4 for the last few weeks as my ping without any apparent reason has shot way up:dead:can anyone help me,i am getting a ping of 400 when i used to get a ping of 150 and this is on all my fav servers.I did a check for packet loss,there is none.Overall speed is still like before,it is only Call of Duty 4 which i cant playplease reply...

i cant play it to then i open it it dosent even let me chose online mode

Yeah I had this too I played Cod4, CSS and much more games, and some times the ping just went up, check your Internet connection or maybe it is a firewall from your Anti-Virus program don't turn your firewall off! Just allow Cod 4 to be played, and try to run it in safe mode or try low settings maybe that will help but i'm not sure.
Can you please show your specs?
