Can anyone help? overclocking an amd athlon/xp 1700

does anyone know how much i can overclock my cpu?
i have a amd athlon/xp 1700 processor and a asrock ks741 mobo.

Overclocking an Athlon XP 1700 on an Asrock KS741 is a waste of time... as the improvment is minimal.

yes.. i certainly agree with raybay.. You could overclock if you want, but there wouldn't be much of an improvement.

I always ran my 1700 at 333mhz bus speed which effectively turned it into a 2500. If you're sticking with socket A and your mobo supports 400mhz bus, look on Ebay for a 3200. They should be really cheap.

Really cheap, but only for as long as they last.
Better to just move up to the 2500, or higher.

I'm able to overclock my 1700+ up to 2000+ and I can certainly notice the difference.
