How to safely overclock an AMD Athlon II X2 240 processor :)

How to safely overclock an AMD Athlon II X2 240 processor, I know-I know 11 year old CPU.

I found a very old pc lying around in my store room, so just to test the performance, I need to over clock this CPU, cause If anything happens to this pc I don't care. JUST TO TEST THE LIMITS OF 11 YEAR OLD CPU :)

Here are the Specs : AMD Athlon II X2 240 processor, 4GB Ram, ASUS Motherboard

Can I Overclock It ?

And the Ram Is "DDR-2" 400Mhz

AMD ryzen-master is not working , Installed win 11 without TPM

On BIOS you probably can raise FSB to overclock it. Multiplier should be locked.

It just depends if BIOS have adjustments for your motherboard. You probably can find some software that allows to raise FSB. Ryzen Master only support Zen CPUs.

ou can definitely try overclocking the Athlon II X2 240 for fun! It's an older CPU so don't expect massive gains, but it's a learning experience.

Here's the gist: Overclocking is done through your BIOS settings (access key typically DEL or F2 during boot). Look for options like CPU frequency or FSB (Front Side Bus). Increase them in small increments, stress test for stability with a program like Prime95, and adjust voltage if needed (be cautious with voltage increases).

Overclocking can generate heat, so monitor your CPU temps (shouldn't exceed 75°C) and have good airflow. Since it's an old system, keep expectations low and prioritize safety over pushing the limits too far.
