Hi everyone, I just ordered a new PC, and I took the cpu fan out of my old one. I know there is a connector on my new computer to plug it into and the fan will work.

My question is: Is it possible to attach this second fan to my cpu in the new computer so I have two fan cooling it down? If so how? Screws? Glue?

Thank you for you help.

If your PSU can handle it, go for it.
As for mounting, screws is always better and more secure if you have an area to do that,
otherwise, hot melt to the chassis.
The cooler the PC runs, the more efficient it runs ;)

Wait so you ordered a new pc, but you are using an old CPU fan for it (presumably the new one didn't come with a fan)?

Yes it should work fine as long as the CPU socket is the same. You probably need new thermal paste though.

I don't think you can have TWO fans cooling one cpu, i'm a little confused.

Don't know why you would want to consider this.
If you don't have the correct fan, get that first... one that handles all the cooling.
Cannot see anyway the second one can help without causing more trouble down the road.
You need more cooling, or think you do, add a high quality case fan, nod a cpu fan.

My new pc will have a cpu fan, but I will have one spare so why not use it?
Do you mean having TWO cpu fans on ONE cpu?
TWO cpu fans do not fit on ONE cpu.
the old cpu fan will need news thermal paste.

If you mean a normal case fan, go ahead.
