Can I convert an avi back into a DVD and restore original quality

I have several avi and mp4, mov files which other people had converted from DVD. I am wondering if I can convert these files back into DVD format and restore the original quality then burn them to DVD. Has anyone been able to do this?

Nope. You'll never be able to get those back to the original quality. But you should be able to get them on dvd at near or the same quality they are currently in.

well, i always try Pavtube Video Converter to help me deal with such problem when i happen to such problem. It can reduce the quality loss to the minimum.

Yeah, just as SNGX1275 said, you can only get them on DVD at near or the same quality they are currently in. But, perhaps some software can give you some help ,like Aneesoft DVD Ripper Pro etc.

You can't and it will never be possible. There is a term called GIGO (garbage in garbage out), which means you can only get the output as good as the source.
