Can I make copies of my Windows 7 disc?

  1. I make copies of all my discs when possilbe for an archive. Is it possible to copy a win 7 Pro oem disc? I would of course be using the same activation, etc.

    I'm guessing since you already do it you've realised that the disc is copyrighted and has copy protection preventing it being copied.

    In which case I'm fairly certain this would circumventing it and therefore would be illegal should you try to copy it by any other means.

    I make copies for safe keeping in case the disc is damaged. I don't make copies for distribution. The point is, as Sony decided, that I own the disc. I bought and paid for it and I want to protect it. I make extra copies of photos, music, and software when possible.
