Nope in such a good way. Intel 4690 K or 6600K would be the minimum in my opinion. My question is, why do you want to get a powerful GPU with that cheap processor?

To be honest I brought my PC pre-built and I though if I change the graphics card and get a i7 processor I wouldnt have to completely rebuild the PC to get the graphics quality I want.

That's impossible to answer until you post your power supply maker/model. That AMD A8-7650K is wayyy down the totem pole and would completely bottleneck a 1080 even at higher resolutions anyway, so I'd say even if your PSU can handle a 1080 it's a complete waste of money in that system.

For the money of a 1080 you could get an r3 1300 + a cheap b350 mobo and a 1060 / 1050 gpu. You can even sell your old hardware and have some money left.

Not really, the R3 1300 completely obliterates the Fx 6300 (and the 8350) when it comes to gaming. You need to realize that clock for clock there is a ~60% increase in IPC. That's freaking huge.

Why not the R5 1600 then? It burns the i5 to the ground no matter what you are actually doing, it's cheaper, on a cheaper motherboard with supposedly long time support and a nasty stock cooler. The i5 7xxx series is dead. Now coffeelake, coffeelake will probably kick ***, but those prices man. If it launches at the alleged 280+$ price, that's just too expensive.

Ι'm not only talkng about the fact that it's a dead socket though. It's just too damn expensive. The cost for an i5 7600k, the cheapest z270 mobo and a decent cooler is 100€ more than the equivalent R5 1600, at least in my country. And it's actually not faster in gaming when it counts. Look at the DF article for instance, although in some gmes the i5 had higher averages, when there was a heavy scene with lots of draw calls the i5 was completely crippled by the lack of threads. That's why I believe the coffeelake i5 will be bonkers. It juts needs the right pricing and it will shine.
