Can log into FB through smartphone but not desktop

Hi! My boyfriend has not been able to log into his facebook from the desktop computer (which he uses daily and has always used for facebook) for the past 4 days now. It states this feature isn't available. Today he tried logging into facebook through his Blackberry Smartphone and it worked. So why can he access his account through the smartphone (which he never used for facebook until today) and not on his desktop? I am able to log into my account on the same desktop but he can't. Please help!

If you can but he can't, sounds like he simply got banned. If so, nobody here can help. IMO.
