Can my computer use this graphics card?

Hey there,

I've been wanting to upgrade the graphics card for my computer to run newer games. The graphics card I want to buy is the ATI Radeon HD 5770. I'm not that great with computer specs and if things can run on my computer.

Specs:
Acer Aspire X1700
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
3gb Ram
my current graphics card is the NVIDIA GeForce G100

As i am not sure about what is exactly needed to run the graphics card at its full potential please feel free to ask me if you want any more info on my computer.

I don't believe there is a Radeon HD 5770 small enough to fit in your Acer Aspire X1700 case. You need one that is low profile or low profile ready such as this one: PowerColor Radeon HD 5750

I agree with mailpup.

But we also need to know about your power supply to make sure you have enough power for that card. Please provide make, model, wattage, and, if known, the amps on the 12v leg.
