Can pc2700 RAM go into a pc2100 slot

  1. Hey, I just got a really old computer from my grandma. It has a pc2100U RAM stick and I noticed they don't really sell those anymore but 2700 is backwards compatible. If I buy a pc2700 RAM stick, will it work in my computer?
    Thanks

I was hoping for more detailed specs like the make and model of your motherboard, if you can locate that look up the ram it supports. however the short answer is that it will likely work, and run at the speed of the slower pc2100 module.

I actually looked it up on crucial.com and it said it could. Thanks for the help anyway.
