  1. Hello,

    I've got a Asus P5K Premium, 4GB of DDR1066, and a 8800GTX.

I was going to change my case, and get a new graphics card.

    But could the Q6600 (@ 3.0GHZ) keep up with say, a GTX295 or 2 x 285 SLI?

It seems a same to change such a nice processor...

    Regards,

There will be a bottleneck, but you will be getting such insanely high FPS already that it would be pointless to change the CPU. Also, if you have a good cooler installed, you could OC the CPU to around 3.2GHz or more to eliminate most, if not all, of the bottleneck.

Even the stock cooler can bring on speeds of 2.9 GHz +.
