Cannot access

  1. Hello,

    I wonder if anyone can help me.

    I have upgraded my PC and opted for a new hard drive and backup. I also wanted to keep my old hard drive so I could access the existing stuff I had on there. More importantly I needed to access my "inbox" (and other folders) from outlook express.

    However it will not let me access my old drive, it seems to class it as another PC and will not let me access it!

    It allows me to access the progam files and other assorted folders but not the one I want. It will not let me access "Documents and Settings" which is where I presume my old email details were and bookmarks etc.

    Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Here is a Microsoft KB article.

    There must be other KB articles. This one only suggests one remedy. I searched for 'user access denied'. It helps to talk about problems if you can cite the significant text in the failure message.
