Cannot delete emails in OE6?

Cannot delete any emails in XPpro Outlook Express 6. Ver. 00.2900.2180.sp2
Anyone got any ideas? Thks.

The database is corrupt. Chances are good you've got email scanning enabled. That's the number one reason you disable email scanning (number two is that it's redundant anyways).

That is a very thorough repair for OE and I like the screenshots.

I try to start on the conservative side however. Since the problem is with the Deleted Items box, I would suggest trying this first, before the more thorough repair:

Close OE:
Start> Search> Files & Folders> type in .dbx for the search term> before starting the search> Tools> Folder options> View tab> CHECK 'show hidden files & Folders'> now begin the search.

Find YOUR Deleted Items.dbx folder> right click> delete. OE will rebuild this when restarted.

See if this resolves the problem. If you can now delete the emails, you don't need to go any further. But do go back and re-hide the files and folders.

Something to keep in mind: you may get a message about compacting to folders- ALLOW this to take place. It often stops trouble later.
