Cannot install windows because of grub

By fergieonfire
Nov 1, 2008
  1. I installed ubuntu (just ubuntu not dual boot) and i now want to get rid of it. I have my vista installer cd, but i cannot run it due to grub. I get the error message:
    boot from cd/dvd
    grub 1.5
    error 22
I looked up how to delete grub, but you need to run the vista cd.

It seems im in a paradox here. I cant delete grub, because i cant run win vista installer. And i cannot run win Vista installer because i can't delete grub.
    Please help!

If you have a pal with a Windows system make one that way.

edit: or Google 'make a DOS boot disk'
