Cannot open a file getting "Insert disk in E:drive error"

Hello everyone,

I recently joinedTechspot and need a little help. I was working on a file in XP and thought I saved the file to the C:drive but when I try to open the file it keeps giving me a message: "Please insert disk in E:drive". I do not know how the file was saved in that drive but I did not want it to go to that drive, need help!!!

Use Windows Explorer, or other software that allows you to examine other folders above and below the C: <drive> until you find where it has been misplaced. It is there somewhere... that is certain. This "error" is not uncommon... and is usually caused by the folder list slipping through your fingers, so to speak.
Once you find it, just drag and drop to another location, so that the burner software associated with the E: <drive> is no longer detecting it, thereby demanding a disc to which it can record it.
