Cannot open My Computer folder

    i cannot access the files present in my 'My Computer folder'
    when i open 'My computer' folder , its blank n there is just a search torch waving around
    i can access 'My Documents' folder but on trying to explore the my computer folder the PC just hangs up.
    someone please advise me on this as soon as possible!! Emergency case!!

    It may be "looking" for a drive that is having problems. Do you have any external hard drives, external optical drives or flash drives connected? If so, remove them and see if that helps. Be sure to stop the external drives before removing or shut down the PC first.

    there are no external hard drives connected to my PC.it just doesnt show me anything except for the flashlight

    You failed to state which version of Windows you are running, sounds like XP?

    So only My computer is doing this? Can you access the control panel for example?

    im using windows xp...n ya rest evrything works
    wel nw its resolved... i had to disable the WIA - a microsoft operation...from the System Configuaration Utility ...it was clashing wid sum graphical operations
