Can't boot from XP CD

  1. My computer has gotten corrupted. If I try and boot up from the Windows XP CDrom, "Windows Setup" starts (The blue screen) but nothing at all happens afterwards no matter what command I choose. (I've left it for hours, just in case it was merely slow). So, I can't boot the computer up "on its own" to be able to repair or reinstall Windows

    Help.

    • Please tell us more about your computer, (Make, Model, Operating System & SP, etc).
    • Please tell us what was being done last time the computer was working.
    • What has changed since?
      • Have you experienced any power failures, for example?
      • Added hardware?
    • Are you getting any Beep Codes?
    • Can you enter BIOS / System Configuration?

      • If not, then we have one set of issues. If you can, then other options remain open.
    • Have you started with the post (sticky, to stay at the top) by Julio. It offers several first steps.
      • Which of these have been explored, and with what results?
      • Have you run Memtest? (tell us your results in detail)
      • Have you run any Hard Drive Diagnostics? (tell us your results in detail)
