Can't connect to Internet on Windows 7 Ultimate

Ok.please help. This is a tough one. I have just installed a fresh copy of windows 7ultimate. I am setup and now I want internet. I can see the connection I want. Sky internet. But everytime I try to connect it returns can't connect message. I know for sure there is nothing wrong with the router nor the password. I have been going over this for 2 days now.

I have tried to play with many settings but nothing is working.

I have the tcp/ip set to obtain automatically.
I have exellent signal strength.
No antivirus installed yet.
Tried with firewall on andoff.

Please help.

-- Is it a 32- or 64-bit system?
-- Did you use the manufacturer's network adapter drivers or native Win 7's? In
some cases, Win7's are troublesome.
-- Have you tried uninstalling the adapter with Device Manager, deleting all driver
files and, then, re-installing with MANUFACTURER's drivers?
-- Is "Automatically detect setttings" checked in Control Panel> Internet Options>
Connections> LAN Settings ?
-- Since, of course, you are attempting to connect to your own network, are you
entering the correct, case-sensitive Key Code in the WEP/WPA dialog window?
-- Despite the not-connected message, have you tried to open Internet Explorer
and run the Diagnose Connection Tool?

What other software have you installed that may be interfering?
