    Boot in Safe Mode.
Switch System restore OFF, see how here.
In Windows Explorer, turn on "show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how here.

    Next, open Windows Task Manager.
    On Windows 95/98/ME, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE.
    On Windows NT/2000/XP, press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
Click the Processes tab, select the process (if there) and click End Process for:
    ViewMgr.exe

Next, click Start/Control Panel/Add/Remove Programs. If there, UNinstall anything to do with:
    C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

Next, run a HJT scan and (if still there) place a tick-mark in the little square before:
    ...................................................................................................
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe
    O16 - DPF: {02CF1781-EA91-4FA5-A200-646E8241987C} (VaioInfo.CMClass) - http://esupport.sony.com/VaioInfo.CAB
    O16 - DPF: {2B36F775-8CF5-4489-B454-2D1B80984CF2} (FXPluginCtl Object) - http://www.powerflasher.de/plugin/powerres.cab
    O16 - DPF: {6414512B-B978-451D-A0D8-FCFDF33E833C} (WUWebControl Class) - http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/V5Controls/en/x86/client/wuweb_site.cab?1121478553968
    O16 - DPF: {DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8-92D0-73DB16A1543A} (PopCapLoader Object) - http://download.games.yahoo.com/games/web_games/popcap/bejeweled2/popcaploader_v6.cab
    O23 - Service: VAIO Media Integrated Server (HTTP) (VAIOMediaPlatform-IntegratedServer-HTTP) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Media Integrated Server\Platform\SV_Httpd.exe" /Service=VAIOMediaPlatform-IntegratedServer-HTTP /RegRoot="SOFTWARE\Sony Corporation\VAIO Media Platform\2.0" /RegExt="Applications\IntegratedServer\HTTP (file missing)
    O23 - Service: VAIO Media Gateway Server (VAIOMediaPlatform-Mobile-Gateway) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Media Integrated Server\Platform\VmGateway.exe" /Service=VAIOMediaPlatform-Mobile-Gateway /RegRoot="SOFTWARE\Sony Corporation\VAIO Media Platform\2.0" /RegExt="\Addons\Packages\Mobile\Gateway" /DisplayName="VAIO Media Gateway Server (file missing)
    ...................................................................................................
Now click on the Fix Checked button in HJT. Exit HJT.

When done, from between the above dotted lines, delete the highlighted bold files.
When a \directory-name\ is bold, delete everything in it, including that directory itself.
Delete all files and directories from: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Temp
    Repeat this for ALL [usernames].
Delete all files and directories from: C:\WINDOWS\Temp (except files dated from TODAY).

Download and install the HOSTS file from here (instuctions on the website):
    http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

Boot normal. When all OK, switch System Restore back on.

    did you uninstall something lately
127.0.0.1 this is a testing loopback ip address ??
I only use this for server default testing
if you know how go to your nic properties see if there is a test setup for the network device.
    assuming you use network connections

It may also be your firewall (if any) that stops you.
Check the settings if your IP (192.168.xxx.xxx if in a network) is somehow not allowed.
Double-check your ISP's settings in either router or your network properties/Internet protocol.
