Hi!
I've done searches for this BCCode and found it and the 1st parameter but can't seem to narrow it down to the actually problem.

BCCode: 1000007e
BCP1: FFFFFFFFC0000005
BCP2: FFFFF800022433B1
BCP3: FFFFFA60015E77D8
BCP4: FFFFFA60015E71B0
OS Version: 6_0_6001
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

Any ideas where i might look?

Any idea what your computer specs are? Something like make, model and Operating System would help here. When do you get this error? What are you doing when this occurs?

It's Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit service pack 1
The computer is a Dell Studio 5405
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 @ 2.8 GHZ
4 GB ram

Here is the whole message i recieved after recovery.

I am usually out of the office when this happens, nothing out of the ordinary should be running, the computer is not in use at the time.
I'm running McAfee Security Center, also Dell Datasafe is running but it doesn't do any auto backups.

hope this helps!

Could be a corrupted hard drive, overheating issue or a memory fault... When you have time, update Vista to Service Pack 2

I can't open the attachment. It says invalid file. Maybe 04ihegba can. I'm running Windows 7 RC

yeah it worked, but either its corrupt or dumpchk is on the fritz on my new OS. Could someone please upload a copypasta of it. :)

I'm running Win 7 RTM as well lol

I'm trying the Debug Diagnostics Tool 1.1 and it won't do anything with it either :(
I did find however that it may have something to do with update KB973879 and it did start happening the day after that update, I'll try removing it, what's the worst that could happen >:)

I did that and tried blowing out the 3" of dust inside, I've never seen that much dust in a PC before!!! (my office is in a wharehouse)

Well your dump is corrupt, if you could, post a zipped bag of five older ones, so we can see if you are encountering the precise same error/corruption.

Assuming you aren't, I had a look at the nature of the info you gave.

Well that opcode (BCCode) is a SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M error, and is basically a clone of the 0x7e error, which is primarily caused by faulty drivers or conflicting parts. Finally there is rumour that BIOS can be the issue on some boards, and there are BIOS updates out there to fix this, although I doubt that applies to you.

Of course, it could be memory, but then your would probably get a different BSOD op-code each time. The nature of the error omits the possibility of it being a bad HDD, and had it been memory, I don't think your would consistently get the same error.

Have you encountered it again after cleaning the dust from your PC? If it hasn't, then can you type system information into your search bar in the start menu and open that, then navigate to Hardware Resources>Conflicts/Sharing and post that. If these are fine then your issue is drivers.

I'm going to have a look at the source of Ntstatus to find out exactly what the other three parameters in the error are. Good luck!

It hasn't crashed since i cleaned it and removed the windows update, however the dump files being corrupted does concern me. I'll put up the last 5 in a zip, i am not able to run any of them through the Debug Diagnostic Tool either, it gives me this error:

DebugDiag failed to locate the PEB (Process Environment Block) in Mini082909-01.dmp, and as a result, debug analysis for this dump may be incomplete or inaccurate.

Thanks, I appreciate any insight.

Here is everything from conflicts and sharing...

It's a Dell Studio 5405
It hasn't crashed since i took out the update and cleaned the machine so hopefully that solves that problem, just don't know why no one can open the mini dumps..
Looking at it now though I think the Debug Diagnostics Tool I have is the x86 version i'll have to try the x64 and see what happens

My computer says your minidump zip file is invalid... Is this a Dell laptop? I can't find "Dell Studio 5405" on the Dell support website

none as of 4:30pm (est) when i left work, hopefully it was either the blanket of dust or the windows update KB973879 ( I read somewherethat there was an issue between this update and some 64 bit sytems)

Thanks!
