Can't re-activate active desktop

i restarted my comp. and wen it came bac on i got a whole new desktop. it said something to the effect that the desktop was disabled please click this button to reactivate but, wen i did nothing happened. and every time i restart my comp. i get the same error. any suggestions? oh ya and i've been having trouble with my browsers also. for some odd reason they decide that i don't have an internet connection wen i clearly do. i'm using ff and ie8 and dl o because of the issue but, i get the same problem with o.

I think you may have a keyboard fault, because half your letters are missing.
