  1. I got infected probably from usb store device by something that prevents me from seeing invisible and system files. I can't turn "see invisible files and see system files" even by modifying registry values, one more symptom is that explorer opens hard drive folders in new windows despite choosing it to open in the same.

Already did formatted C: drive (i didn't touch D: drive i need data that is there) and installed fresh copy of windows but it didn't solve the problem.

I'm running Windows XP Home Editon SP3

    Any help will be appreciated.

Like what invisible files are we talking about, that you were once able to see?

by invisible i mean hidden the one you can change to view here
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL

I have dealt with the problem :)
    1. cd - boot win
    2. deleting all hidden/system folders on data drive
    3. formatting system drive
    4. fresh installation of win
