Capcom's latest game is set in a future where it rains dinosaurs

In a nutshell: Capcom during Sony’s recent State of Play broadcast showcased Exoprimal, an online, team-based action game pitting players against waves of history’s deadliest dinosaurs that drop out of the sky from mysterious vortexes. At least it’s not another zombie survival game, right?

Exoprimal is set in the year 2043, a time when humans don exosuits to do battle with their reptilian foes. Each type of exosuit has a clearly defined role, so you’ll want to coordinate with your comrades to work out the best strategy before going into battle. Should you find the current approach ineffective, you can change out your exosuit at any time during a mission.

The game's main mode, Dino Survival, involves two teams of five competing in PvE and PvP missions. The first to complete the mission objectives wins.

In a way, Exoprimal feels fresh in that it isn’t the same old “fight off hordes of zombies” narrative that we’ve been dealt for well over a decade now (and it doesn’t look to be Dino Crisis, either). On the other hand, it sort of does seem like the same formula under the surface, just with a new coat of paint.

Be sure to check out the State of Play trailer reveal above. Those seeking additional insight into how the game is shaping up are encouraged to check out Capcom's developer commentary video below or visit the game's official website.

Launch is tentatively slated for sometime in 2023 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC.

LOL, someone watched Primeval and had a light bulb moment - and there's nothing wrong with that. They must be magic dinos, though, since falling from the sky would explode them like gnats on a windshield, plus modern weapons (let alone future ones) would insta-wreck any large animal we know about.

Why don't Capcom just reboot Dino crisis?...
Why in the world would you prefer they reboot an older franchise, which will probably not attract new fans and disgruntle old fans instead of building a new IP? I mean holy COW dude.

Because the resi reboots have sold very well.

That's like sitting through the Sharknado movies, feeling your IQ reaching the new low.

Surely with these exosuits - if they really were wonderful - I could only see dying from high gforce trauma or very sustain heating . ( not sure dinos have radiation weapons ) so basely shaked to death - thrown off tall buildings ( assuming no parachute , jet packs ) . Chocking on vomit when go into shell mode and rolled endlessly .
Then again Jurassic Park - showed 100% that even with weapons man is no match for Dinos - hopefully no one in the future will release such a Pandora's' box , Dinos will find a way

I didn't know EA sold Capcom Anthem. #2 looks interesting :p

Jokes aside, the suit aesthetic is meh (I would prefer Anthem's here lol), but the concept intrigues. The more over-the-top approach to some of the offensive/defensive equipment I saw will have me keeping tabs on it...

Wow, that was bad. Comically bad.

Capcom: what if we made a World War Z mod... With raptors... But sold it as a AAA title?
