CAT6 takes priority over CAT5 connections

    I extended my wired network to garage with cat 6 cable. Whenever I am online in the garage, no other connection in the rest of the network works including wifi.

    The rest of the network uses variety of sitecom switiches and a d link router all cabled with cat 5.

    Any thoughts? And no I am not replacing the cat 6 cable which is buried in wall!

    this is not a cable issue. please create a physical map of the devices and their connections.
