Catalyst 3.8 driver causing overheating

My Card broke tonight (using the newer beta drivers) stay away from them.

Think its probably over heater since it wont boot up with the ATI card in, it just beeps.

VPU Problems

I have Catalyst 3.8 installed and I am running an ATi Radeon Pro 9700 and I have had complete videocard and monitor shutdowns while playing America's Army for over 20 minutes. VPU Recovery problems run rampant and my temperature gauge tells me it hits 135' F. This is the breaking point for my videocard. I am pissed with ATi for not acknowledging this very real problem.

If you think the drivers are the problem, I suggest you try upgrading to the newest driver set. There have been several since 3.8. Get the newest, 4.3, and see if that helps any.

135F is not hot at all, is well within specs.... that's only 57.2 C
