Upon boot up of my laptop I recieve an error that Catalyst Control Center: host application has encountered an error and needs to close followed by a CCC.exe box that goes away quickly for me to see the full error... I did some online reasearch and it menioned that it could be my driver but I only see one in there which is ST9250827AS ATA Device. However on my laptop I have a sticker showing that I have ATI Radeon Premimun Graphics and another sticker for AMD TurionX2 64... Please someone help... I am having serious issues and would be ever so grateful.. Its gotten so bad that I cannot enjoy playing the games I once enjoyed.
THanks, Brande

You can try going into Programs & Features in Control Panel, locate AMD Catalyst Install Manager, and use the Change Option

Then you'll see this, select Repair and see that fixes your problem (I did an uninstall and installed latest version when I had problem w/ CCC loading correctly on my parents' computer recently).

Or uninstall what you have and install the most recent version. What ATI video card are you using? You can check that by going into Device Manager. You can see from the screen shot below that I have the Radeon HD 5700 Series card. Once you find out, download the latest from ATI.

I am not positive on the steps of uninstalling and reinstalling my graphics.... but I do know that I have ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

Download the setup file from here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
On the right, under the heading "Latest AMD Catalyst™ Drivers for Radeon™ HD 4000, HD 3000 and HD 2000 Series", get the one that matches your OS.

Download and run the utility UNKNOWN9122 mentioned in post #3. Use that to uninstall existing drivers, reboot. Then run the setup file.

Just use the " ATI software uninstall utility " in add or remove programs then install new drivers from the link rabbit01 posted above.

Be sure you have microsoft .net framework installed.

Ok so I ran a driver sweeper and it gave me the option to analyze and clean... I then had to reboot... did not recieve the error however when I tried to install the drivers that I downloaded from the amd website this is the log I got.... it was a failure :(

Don't see display driver though. Might be laptop specific. Sometimes that happens, you have to get certain drivers from the laptop manufacturer's site.

As for .NET framework, check Programs & Features in Control Panel, if it's installed, it'll say so..."Microsoft .NET Framework 4". If you don't have it, you can get it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851

Are you running a Toshiba or Vaio laptop? They dont allow driver installs from 3rd parties for graphics. Also dont just uninstall as said above, run driver sweeper as you did. I used to uninstall, but I noticed after I ran the uninstall utility how much junk was left behind

I did get a driver back on the laptop but not there is periods where the screen will go black and then come back on after a few seconds. I know this is the graphics error but I do not know how to fix it. Here is my specs:

I am running a Gateway Laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium.
Gateway Model: MD2614U
Processor: AMD Turion(tm) X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-72 2.10 GHz
Memory (RAM): 3.00 GB
System Type: 64-bit operating system

Not that it matters at this point, but I'm fairly certain that ST9250827AS ATA Device is a Seagate hard drive

Yes I have seen that ST92502827AS ATA somewhere on here.. I just need to know the proper steps in doing a full uninstall of the drivers that are causing me the issues.. the error message no longer appears HOWEVER I am getting the black screen flickering every now and then... leading me to think its my graphic card not properly installed... when I went to the link http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/catalyst-uninstall-utility.aspx it was not compatible and I could not use it so I used a driver sweeper and uninstalled them manually REBOOTED then followed the instructions of downloading the correct driver from this link http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx anymore suggestions or a test I can run to see what my problem is?????

Just to recap, you uninstalled the old drivers w/ driver sweeper, then installed new drivers w/ the download from AMD's site. But that install was only partially successful and you now have a flickering screen? So at this point the display driver hasn't been completely updated yet?

Found a link for drivers for the Gateway M26 series notebook: http://support.gateway.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=2364

Have you tried the display driver from the above link?

No I have not... I had been searching every possible article on what the problem could be... I had ati catalyst control center and ati everything now its giving me amd... and im aware that they amd took over but im afraid its causing me major issues...

And will I be downloading this file from that link:

Chipset Driver ATI 8.630.0.0000 206.7 MB 07/06/2010

This is what I usually do when I install a new driver for my AMD video card. From the control panel I simply uninstall the old driver using the existing ATI/AMD uninstall routine. I don't use Driver Sweeper to uninstall. Then I reboot into safe mode and use Driver Sweeper to clean out the rest of the old driver install. I have also also gone to my hard drive and looked at Windows > assembly and then looked for the public key token 90ba9c70f846762e. If you find that token in the assembly folder then you need to select it and then with a right click uninstall it. There may be many tokens that are named 90ba9c70f846762e in that folder, you'll need to uninstall them all. Now don't uninstall ALL of the tokens in that folder, just the ones that are numbered 90ba9c70f846762e. Now I'd usually reboot into Windows, and install the driver using the usual manner. Everything usually works after all that.
