i just built my new comp and eveything is working but the cd drive.... i restart and during my restart i can open and close it but when i get to desktop it dont work and wont show up in my computer or device manager...the cd drive is one that i took out of my hp it it works the problem is getting it to work someone please help me!!!

You were able to use it to install windows?

yes and i used it to install my games but now it just dont want to work...

OK, so at one point it WAS working and now it isn't? Have you made any hardware changes recently like adding a new hard drive, or another optical drive?

yes correct........the only thing new is a hd and its sata thats about it.....to install my games i hade to turn the comp off unplug the power to the cd drive and plug it back in, but i got tired of taking off the side panel sometimes it wouldnt work if i did that..

my comp also wont let me into the setup when i press f5 at the start up it just goes to a black screen

ok got it to get in the setup and it reads the dvd cd combo in bios but still cannt get it to open at desktop or read in device manager
