Changing IP thru Linksys Router

  1. I need to change my IP, went to a few different youtube vids and did what was explained...
Opened my linksys, went to mac address clone, changed numbers around, and I never got a new addy.
They kept saying change the last 2 numbers, but I have a DD in the last box...
IDK if my settings are different or my connection or what it is.

Doesn't your ISP (Internet Service Provider) supply your IP Address? Are you trying to "hide" your real IP adress

Hide or change...instead of calling my ISP and asking for a new IP I figured there was a way of doing it thru the router.
I plugged the modem cable directly into the computer instead of running thru the router and changed my IP that way...pretty quick and easy...
I use the router to run the internet on my laptop (which I let a friend borrow) and my PS3/ I can just run back thru the router when I need to.
