    You didn't mention which socket, but newegg has offerings in your price range for AM2, AM2+ & AM3. Should also be available from a number of other sources such as Amazon, etc.

    I saw in the other thread that you thought it was. If you have a socket 939, I have a low mileage socket 939 Athlon 64 X2 4400 you can have if you want to send me your address.

    The AMD Athlon 64 3700+ is socket 939. If you look on ebay, there are some inexpensive dual core CPU's you can get for that socket.
