I personally love administrating the 12,000 + chrome books we have in place. It's just not the cost its the simplicity of the whole thing. As with other companies whom leave you in the fire pits to get things running, Google makes everything so simple. The killer product Google has is Rep/Dev/user interaction and an amazing educational infrastructure prebuilt and ready for the taking. You can not get this from any other company. It's going to take years for MSFT to catch up to google's educational SAAS / IoD free options if they even want to compete at all.
I really see Google squashing the rest of the crowd. If you have a cheap chrome book or any other cheap device your school now has the abilities that large school districts have had for decades.
