Classic Car Insuranse

I'm almost at the age where I can start drivng (just a couple of weeks to go) and am a bit nutty when it comes to cars, frequent Top Gear viewer.

I was browsing some used car sites and came across an ad for a Delorean, the guy wrote a virual essay about it, seemed to know what he was on about.

He said that BECAUSE it was a classic, the insuranse would be cheaper. I was under the impression that classic car insuranse was higher than normal cars. If this is true, i would much rather buy a classic than a modern (i'm just wierd that way).

If anyone has any knowledge in the area i'd much apprieciate it

Thanks in advance

'Classic' = there are no parts readilly and cheaply available

This means that collision (and likewise comprehensive) coverage would be Sooooo expensive you wouldn't want it and thus, you are only going to pay for Liability.

So, yeah, it would be cheaper.

:)

Thanks for the conformation

I want to own one at some point, but for the next few years its probably best if i go for something more normal, and cheaper, until my premiums go down, i get experienced and (hopefully) a no-claims bonus
