After teasing us a week ago, former Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski has revealed plans for his next game. BlueStreak (the current running name) will be a free-to-play sci-fi PC arena shooter created by Bleszinski and Arjan Brussee under their new studio, Boss Key Productions.

Bleszinski worked with Brussee on the Jazz Jackrabbit series and also contributed to the Killzone games so the two should be a perfect fit to build an arena shooter. They will be partnering with Japanese firm Nexon, a company that specializes in free-to-play online games.

In a statement on the matter, Nexon president and CEO Owen Mahoney said Cliff is one of the most innovative and renowned game designers of our time and his reputation for creating genre-defining games that inspire a dedicated fan base is well-earned.

He added that players across the world have eagerly awaited Cliff’s next move and his company is delighted to partner with Boss Key to bring the next generation of first-person shooters to market.

Unfortunately there's no trailer to go with the announcement, but perhaps that's a good thing. Bleszinski said his studio wouldn't use a fake CG trailer showing "gameplay" to build hype.

Bleszinski offered to share more details about the project - his reasoning for targeting the PC, selecting Nexon as a partner and going the free-to-play route - later today. He's also expected to field some fan questions although the venue hasn't yet been provided.

If I had to guess, the Q&A session will probably take place either on Twitter or Twitch.

And how many actually wanted to know this? What a waste of time by the writer and reader. Let me further waste my time by commenting.

Let us know next time he decides to cut his hair. These details are meaningless until there is at least a demo to showcase. And by demo, I don't mean the bare essentials of game-play.

Yay, that's what we need! Another Shooter! God I can't get enough shooters in my life... What's that? It's an online multiplayer arena style shooter as well?! Well I'll be damned! I've never played any of those before!

I think every single start up games development company should just make a shooter, which is online, I just can't get enough of them!

Hmm. Another shooter from the creater of Gears of War. Next he'll tell us there are "RPG elements" to the game.

Some people are just so irate it seems, over any details of what x article is about. If you don't care about the person, or anything why did you read and comment on it?! Sheesh..

Also Nexon originated in Korea unless you're saying, he's working with the Japanese branch of Nexon?
