Hi everyone,

My problem isn't big yet, everything works, web, scanners, etc.
My desktop glitches every 10 mins or so, like it wants to change resolution but thinks better of it.
Updated all drivers, uninstalled the board and put it in the other slot stil same problem.

My guess is its not working 100% with w7, it was one of the last models for dx9.
If that is the case, I will upgrade no prob.

Also Windows decides to reboot every few days without warning.

I have been installing and removing games here and there without paying for them.
So even tho i consider myself smart enough to know what to do to keep the risk of getting screwed by infected exe files and such to a minimum, im afraid theres stuff happening that I dont know of.

Running W7 x64 ultimate-e (without Iexplorer)
ati radeon x1950xtx (asus) is the graphicscard
I have completed the 7 steps and will paste the logs in the next few posts.
I have also done a full housecall scan which was clear, avg free was installed already, nothing there aswel.
Before I decided to post here I have read some similar threads about such stuff and I have tried a few extra scanners, Sophos antiroot kit and OTL.
Sophos was clean, OTL gave me another log file but its too complicated for me to work with :) I hope I can get some assistance. thanks in advance

Seven

==== End Of File ===========================

Welcome to TechSpot! Although your problem sound more like it's in the hardware area, I'll check the logs for malware. If necessary, I'll have your thread moved to the more appropriate forum. Note that is it also possible that you may have malware but it may still not the the cause of the graphics problem.
=============================================
My Guidelines: please read and follow:
  • Be patient. Malware cleaning takes time and I am also working with other members while I am helping you.
  • Read my instructions carefully. If you don't understand or have a problem, ask me.
  • If you have questions, or if a program doesn't work, stop and tell me about it. Don't try to get around it yourself.
  • Follow the order of the tasks I give you. Order is crucial in cleaning process.
  • File sharing programs should be uninstalled or disabled during the cleaning process..
  • Observe these:
    [o] Don't use any other cleaning programs or scans while I'm helping you.
    [o] Don't use a Registry cleaner or make any changes in the Registry.
    [o] Don't download and install new programs- except those I give you.
  • Please let me know if there is any change in the system.
If I have not replied for 2 days, you can send me a PM reminder. Include the URL of your thread. Please do not send me a PM to tell me your logs are up.
If I don't get a reply from you in 5 days, the thread will be closed. If your problem persist, you can send a PM to reopen it.
=====================================

5. Remove this application: C:\Windows\system32\53B4.tmp It is not compatible with the OS

  • Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. It is recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode if needed.
    **Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Note 1:Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
Note 2: ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.
Note 3: Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you -- please tell your helper.
Note 4: CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.
Note 5: If you receive an error "Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion", restart computer to fix the issue.

Removing avg went wrong, I ran appremover, everything was fine, it told me to reboot and just before I clicked avg opened an empty field with a few buttons without text.
I couldnt close it so I could either reboot or start over with appremover, I chose start over, it found nothing so I rebooted.

At reboot I got an error saying There is no script engine for file extension ".vbs"
Click ok and windows booted
Avg = stil all over the place, chrome gave me an error about avg toolbar or something, the field with the empty buttons stil is here at this point i ran appremover again, it found pieces of avg and it just asked me to reboot.
systray icon is stil there and the empty shell aswel
I will wait for your reply :) I think I should have done that at first problem,
*gonna be more careful*

My intense dislike of AVG increases exponentially every time I see the 3 letters AVG! If they had left us a way to disable the damn thing to run the security scans, we would have to go through this uninstall business!

About Memsweep2: Yes, I know it's part of Sophos and it's okay to run. Perhaps I should have given directions:
Start> Run> type in services.msc[.b]> enter> Double click on Service to Open> Change Startup type as needed.

It was on Automatic and didn't need to start on boot. By putting it on Manual, it would only run as needed. You can reinstall it when we're through.

I also know what VirusTotal is. But why have it taking up your hard drive space and RAM when all you have to do is go to the site and paste in the entry!

Sometimes I just don't take the time to explain everything.
================================================
Try this for AVG:
AVG Remover eliminates all the parts of your AVG installation from your computer, including registry items, installation files, user files, etc.
Note:
  • AVG user settings will be removed.
  • Virus Vault contents will be removed.
  • All other items related to AVG installation and use will be removed.
  • You will be asked during the removal procedure to restart your computer. Please do so.
  • Make sure there is no open work in process prior to launching AVG Remover.
Use the appropriate download for your system for the AVG Remover: AVG Remover:32bit
AVG Remover:64 bit
==========================================
The uninstaller might have been damaged. So if you still get notice of it being on system, run the and have it remove all AVG entries:

avgremover fixed it in a few seconds + a reboot :)

The error message is also solved, it was my own fault cause I installed a new notepad and in its preferences i could set the file ascociatisomethings.. I put it back to wscript.exe -> error gone..

Here is the combofix log, i noticed the .tmp file in there but it is no longer in system32.
Prolly just an old reg key but thought id mention it just in case.

I have been installing and removing games here and there without paying for them.

The word for this is piracy. When you steal software, you will get malware.
So you really don't get something for nothing!

Download CKScanner and save to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick CKScanner.exe and click Search For Files.
  • When the cursor hourglass disappears, click Save List To File.
  • A message box will verify that the file is saved.
  • Double-click the CKFiles.txt icon on your desktop and copy/paste the contents
    in your next reply.

sorry for taking a week, wont happen again

Kind of seems like you want to run the thread. You have multiple entries to crack the SDCard password and locked Registry keys for pirated Fable III Crack Update ONLY SKIDROW torrent download |
("Fid_E94C8342_A5A7_583A_BD7B_7374DAF79279")

I have been installing and removing games here and there without paying for them.
So even tho i consider myself smart enough to know what to do to keep the risk of getting screwed by infected exe files and such to a minimum, im afraid theres stuff happening that I dont know of.

Pirating programs, using keygens and cracks from torrent sites doesn't really make you smart at all. Since you don't accept responsibility for any of this, I am ending my support.
========================================
You can remove the the tools we used and the files and folders they created:
  • Uninstall ComboFix and all Backups of the files it deleted
    [o] Click START> then RUN
    [o] Now type Combofix /Uninstall in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.
  • Download OTCleanIt by OldTimer and save it to your Desktop.
    [o] Double click OTCleanIt.exe.
    [o] Click the CleanUp! button.
    [o] If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
    [o]The tool will delete itself once it finishes.
    Note: If you receive a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTC attempting to contact the internet, please allow it to do so.
    Note: If any tool, file or folder (belonging to the program we have used) hasn't been deleted, please delete it manually.
  • Set a new, clean Restore Point
    [o] Click on Start> right click on Computer> Properties
    [o] Select System Protection
    [o] Click on the Create button (near bottom)
    [o] Type a name for the Restore Point
    [o] Click on Create again to save the restore point.
  • Deleting all but the most recent System Protection point in Windows 7
    [o] Click Start> Computer> right click the C Drive and choose Properties> enter.
    [o] Click Disk Cleanup from there.
    image2.png

    [o] Click Clean up system files
    This restarts Disk Cleanup to run in elevated mode.
    [o] Click the More Options tab
    w7-srp2.png

    [o] Click the Clean up under System Restore and Shadow Copies.
    [o] Click OK.
    [o] You will get a confirmation screen> Just click Delete.
    [o] Click OK on the Disk Cleanup Screen.

This runs the Disk Cleanup utility along with other selections if you have chosen any. (if you had a lot System Restore points, you will see a significant change in the free space in C drive)
