CMOS Setting & Bad Battery?

  1. If my CPU BIOS is losing date/time settings every time it reboots, am I correct in assuming it probably needs a new coin battery on the board? The mobo is an older P4C800E Deluxe Asus, and I'm sure the battery has never been swapped out.

    Thanks for any info.

That`s a classic symptom of a bad cmos battery. Replace the battery and hopefully, that`ll solve your problem.
