Comp freezing possibly bad PSU, help?

I have reason to believe a bad PSU is the reason for my random freezing on my computer. My tech level is somewhere between beginner and intermediate for computers so pardon my lack of knowledge.

I use SIW to monitor my computer and was wondering how accurate the voltage readings are because ive taken my computer to two different shops and both believe there is nothing wrong with my power supply yet SIW tells me my +12V rail is only outputting 5V. Another thing, i went through my event viewer and have 50+ red/yellow errors is that normal?

Do you or a fiend have a digital multimeter to test your power supply? That is your best way. Don't rely on software monitoring at this juncture.

And, yes, having those many errors is not good. Run a security scan.

yes i can get a hold of one. do you know of any software that performs a good security scan?

What antivirus are you running? Use that.
