Compaq 6300 desktop

computer will not turn on when power button is pushed. there is no signs of life. if the power switch needs replacing, where do i get one?

Also Check powercords may be it is loose? then PSU of your PC may not be functioning

If you unplug the computer and use an alligator clip wire you can jump out the switch. Plug it back in and if it comes on it's a bad switch. A safer way is to use an OHM meter to check between two connections, one the "power in" contact to the "power out" contact on the switch....the power cord is unplugged while you do this. In the off position you should read an open...highest ohm reading. In the "ON" position, the ohm value should be less than 1 ohm.
Parts can be obtained from the company or if you have the manufacturer's part number, an electronics supply house.
