Completed 8-Step, Need Help Please

Hi,

I'm a newbie and have read the instructions on the 8-step, which I have done.
My computer is running slowly, and the 8-step detected several viruses.

Also, I notice that when I try to use Google it gives me bogus results. So clearly my computer still has issues.

I tried to upload the log files from Hijackthis, malaware and superantispyware, but cannot find them in their respective folders.

Hopefully I'm posting everything correctly.

Thanks,
Marla

SAS and MBAM logs you can find here:
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data
go in folders and search for folder names like logs or similar names.
for HJT go here:
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis

THere should it be. hope I helped you.

Hi marla

Just run HJT again and click Do system scan and save log a file on the 1st screen.

Attach that log.

Mike

Yes good! Give me a few moments and I will have the results!

Did you have and uninstall Norton?

Boot to Safe Mode with Networking and do all below.

Run HJT select and remove the below 2 items
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k
O16 - DPF: {BDEE1959-AB6B-4745-A29B-F492861102CC} -

Then

Left Drag mouse and Copy for Pasting all text in the box below. Make sure the slider bar goes to bottom from the @ to the end of the second exit.

Then paste to the black screen of an open command prompt. All may not apply so ignore errors.
Code:
@echo off
cd\

This should run and exit!

It is a coverall and you may see a few errors related to it addressing something you do not need. This is normal ignore.

Reboot once more then do the below!

Run SAS Click Preferences-Repairs
Then counting down from top do the following entries
Numbers 6, 8, 11, 12, 13, 15,18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26 and 27!

Reboot the test for redirecting! Let me know!

Mike
