  1. hi. i have a Compaq PC with Windows Vista and use Realtek High Definition Audi. it is about 2 and a half years old. today i unplugged my headphones from it. when i later returned to the computer and plugged them back in. but i was getting no sound and my volume icon said, "no audio output device installed" when hovered over. so i followed a few step and using Recovery Manager was able to reinstal Realtek High Definition Audio. now my sounds are all back, but the sound is awful!! iv had to adjust levels for windows sounds and internet explorer as they were very loud but only at 30%. and when i play music or anything it tries to level the sounds so no sounds are louder than others.

there are no sound effects on. how can i fix this???

Go to HP's support website and download the latest audio driver for the Compaq model
