Computer Bug/Problem, Random Automatic Shutdown of Programs (Microsoft only ones)

  1. Hi there

Im having a problem with some microsoft programs running on a Dell Dimension 2400 running winXP SP2.

I think this could work in conjunction after a virus scan with Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0, as it found over 4000 viruses on the computer just yesterday. I nutrilised/deleted them all.

For the meantime, i have installed Opera broswer to access the internet and it is working fine, whereas IE6 (im fairly sure) will load up, sometimes have an error connecting (Page could not be found, are you connected etc...) but opera works fine. At some point, usually after you try to connect to a page, Google images for example (google home page works fine) it will begin to load, then shutdown. This also happens when i open Windows media player 10, it just shuts down before even fully loaded. So far it is only theese programs, but maybe more. What is going on???

Also, if it helps, User Settings in control panel will not load, just shutdown before it has fully loaded like the others.

Thanks in advance, PLEASE HELP!!!! :)
